The joy of being hands-on

I was talking to a few of my friends and it seems no matter the industry, many times if you want to move up you have to get away from doing what you love. I was telling them about how some tech companies noticed this. They came up with tracks for their top engineers to stay hands on and benefit from the same career progression others do who choose to go into management. These are the Distinguished Engineers.

This is where my company name came from.

When I was promoted to Client Partner years ago my angle was that I would bring the voice of the researcher and recruiter to the table.

With every recruitment outsourcing pitch I get, every tech demo that comes my way, with every Partner I talk to, I realize that the love of actual recruiting is rare.

It’s exciting to do what I love every day.
